Frequently asked questions

Real profit for resellers. Everything you need to know about connecting your channels, how costs are computed, what the numbers mean, pricing and privacy.

Getting started

What is ReProfit and who is it for?

ReProfit is a profit-analytics tool for resellers who sell on eBay, Shopify and Vinted. It pulls in your sales and computes your real net profit after fees, cost of goods, shipping and returns, so you stop guessing.

Do I need to be good with Excel?

No. If you connect eBay or Shopify, the numbers flow in on their own. If you prefer a spreadsheet, you download a ready template, fill the columns and upload it. No formulas to write.

How long until I see my first dashboard?

A few minutes. Connect a channel or upload your file and the dashboard builds itself. eBay and Shopify pull recent history automatically; a spreadsheet shows up the moment it finishes uploading.

Can I try it without creating an account?

Yes. The demo shows a full dashboard with sample data, so you can see exactly how it works before signing up. When you want your own numbers, create an account and connect a channel.

What languages and currencies does it use?

The interface is in English and Italian, with numbers, dates and currency shown in your locale's format. Amounts are displayed in euro.

Which platforms does ReProfit cover?

Direct connectors for eBay and Shopify, plus an Excel/CSV upload that covers Vinted and any other channel you sell on. Everything lands in one combined view.

Connecting your channels

Does it work with eBay.it and other eBay sites?

Yes. The eBay connector reads your account regardless of which eBay site you sell on, including eBay.it. It pulls your real orders, fees and shipping straight from eBay's reports.

Are the connectors read-only?

Yes. ReProfit only reads your data, it never changes anything in your eBay or Shopify account. It cannot edit listings, prices or orders.

How much history does eBay import?

eBay's API reaches roughly two years back, so the first sync brings in your recent history up to that limit. Years that start mid-way are labelled with their real date range, not as a full year.

How do I connect Shopify and what does it import?

You authorize the connection once and ReProfit reads your orders, fees, shipping collected and the 'Cost per item' you set on products. That cost feeds the COGS so your profit is real, not gross revenue.

Can I connect more than one shop or account?

Yes. Connect eBay and Shopify together, add an Excel file for Vinted, and the combined 'Mista' view sums them into one P&L. Each channel also keeps its own separate view.

What about Vinted, Depop or Amazon?

There's no direct connector for these yet. You bring them in through the Excel/CSV upload: add their sales as rows and they appear alongside your eBay and Shopify numbers.

Is there an Excel/CSV template?

Yes. Download the ready template, which has the right column names, drop-downs and two example rows. Fill it with your buys and sales, upload it, and it imports one-to-one.

How often does it sync, and can I disconnect a channel?

Connected channels refresh automatically on a schedule, and you can run 'Sync now' anytime; an uploaded spreadsheet updates when you upload a new one. You can disconnect any channel from settings whenever you want.

Costs and COGS

How does it know my real cost per item?

It uses the cost tied to each item: what you typed yourself, or the cost-by-SKU from your spreadsheet, or Shopify's 'Cost per item'. Where none exists, it estimates with your average item cost and flags it.

What's the priority order for cost?

A manual override always wins. Then your Excel cost-by-SKU, because lot pricing from your spreadsheet is the real per-item cost. Then Shopify's 'Cost per item' as a fallback, then an estimate.

I buy in lots, e.g. 10 pieces for 50 euro. How is that handled?

There's no separate 'bundle' object: a lot is just several rows of the same SKU. The cost you paid is split across the pieces, so each unit carries its real share as COGS.

Does it include fixed costs and overhead?

Yes. Subscriptions and recurring fees, like an eBay store fee, are subtracted across the period they apply to, scoped to the right channel, so a Shopify-only view isn't charged eBay's costs.

How does it treat shipping paid vs shipping collected?

Shipping you collect from the buyer counts as revenue, eBay-style, exactly as your Seller Hub shows it. The shipping label you actually paid is subtracted as a cost. Both sides are accounted for.

What if some costs are missing?

ReProfit still works: missing costs fall back to an estimate. A reliability signal shows how much of your sold revenue is backed by a real cost, so you know how much to trust ROI and margin.

The numbers

What does net profit actually include?

Revenue minus everything: platform fees, cost of goods sold, shipping labels, returns and refunds, ad spend and fixed overhead. What's left is what actually stuck. Full definitions are in the glossary.

What are GMROI, ROI, MER and dead capital?

Short version: ROI is profit per euro of goods sold, GMROI is gross margin per euro of stock you're holding, dead capital is cash stuck in unsold inventory. See the glossary for the full definitions.

How are returns and refunds handled?

A returned item goes back into stock and its cost is removed; any refunded amount is netted off revenue and the fee credit off fees. So the P&L reflects only what really sold. See the glossary.

What is the 'Mista' unified view?

Mista combines all your channels, eBay, Shopify and Excel, into one P&L, while each channel keeps its own view too. Numbers reconcile across views so totals match. See the glossary.

What's the difference between revenue and net?

Revenue is what came in, including shipping you collected, minus refunds. Net is what's left after every cost. ReProfit leads with net, because that's the number that matters. See the glossary.

Pricing

What does ReProfit cost?

Three options: Free, Base (a one-time payment, then a small yearly fee) and Pro (a subscription, monthly or yearly). Pro adds the eBay and Shopify connectors and full metrics.

Is it free during the beta?

Yes. During the beta everything is free to use, connectors included, so you can test it on your real numbers before deciding on a plan.

What's the difference between Free, Base and Pro?

Free and Base cover Excel/CSV uploads and the core metrics; Base unlocks the full feature set without a recurring subscription. Pro adds the live eBay and Shopify connectors.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Cancel the Pro subscription whenever you want and you keep your data. There's no lock-in.

Can I get my data out?

Yes. You can export your data, and a downloadable spreadsheet template is always available. Your numbers stay yours.

Data and privacy

Can other users see my data?

No. Every account's data is isolated at the database level with row-level security, so one user can never read another's numbers.

How are my eBay and Shopify connections protected?

The access tokens for your connectors are stored encrypted, and the connectors are read-only, so they can never change anything in your accounts.

Where is my data hosted?

Your data is hosted in the EU, and ReProfit is run by an EU company under GDPR.

Can I delete my account and data?

Yes. You can delete your account and your data at any time. When you delete, it's gone for good.

Do you sell my data?

Never. ReProfit does not sell your data to anyone. It exists to compute your profit, nothing else.
